An ancient Chinese medicine technique of inserting thin needles in the skin at specific points on the body. The purpose and outcome of acupuncture is to alleviate pain and other ailments by promoting the balance of physical, mental, and emotional health. (And no, it doesn't hurt!)
Acupuncture
Cupping therapy has been used for countless years across Asia to alleviate pain and ease both acute and chronic health issues. Cups are placed on the body using a suction force (through heat or a pump device) which pulls the skin slightly up into the cup. This greatly affects underlying fascia, muscles, organ systems by bringing fresh blood flow to the area thus oxygenating tissues and reducing inflammation, blood stagnation, and pain.
Cupping
Gua sha is a therapeutic technique that has been used for thousands of years in Chinese medicine by using a tool to rub or scrape the skin in order to bring about a circulatory reaction called petechiae or "sha". Bringing up the sha removes blood stagnation considered to be pathogenic in Chinese medicine. Many patients report feeling immediate relief from pain and stiffness, fever or chills, cough and wheezing, nausea. For these reasons Gua sha can be effective in treating acute and chronic internal organ disorders along with muscular and joint pain.

Moxibustion is a form of heat therapy that stimulates specific acupuncture points in the body in order to promote the body's ability to heal. Mugwort leaves are dried and ground into small cones or sticks called moxa, which are then lighted and used to warm points on the body and alleviate a variety of conditions.
Moxibustion
Based on beliefs from Traditional Chinese Medicine, the complexion reflects the body's internal balance and health. As a specialized branch of acupuncture, cosmetic or facial acupuncture focuses on the face and neck to reduce wrinkles and improve skin tone. This approach involves the insertion of fine needles (usually between 50-100 needles depending on concerns and the areas being targeted) to increase blood circulation to the skin. Enhanced blood flow brings vital nutrients and fresh oxygen to the needled areas, supporting cell regeneration and improving overall skin tone and glow. The needles penetrate below the epidermis into the upper dermis layer stimulating fibroblasts, the cells which produce collagen. Body needles are also administered to give an overall beneficial full body treatment. Packages are available upon request.
Facial Acupuncture
Microneedling is a safe, minimally invasive treatment that is performed using a specialized handheld device. At one end of the device a cartridge containing several very small and sterilized needles is inserted and then disposed of after each use. The needles microscopically penetrate the skin, stimulating the regeneration of collagen and elastin producing cells in the dermis layer of the skin. The treatment has become a favorite method for reducing the appearance of wrinkles, scars, acne, stretch marks, and uneven skin tone, as well as effectively stimulating hair growth in men and women. Expect 4-10 treatments for optimal results. Packages are available upon request.

With over a decade of experience in acupuncture and Chinese medicine, I am passionate about helping people achieve balance and well-being. I earned my Master of Science degree from Yo San University of Chinese Medicine in Los Angeles, where I trained extensively in diverse settings, including an HIV outreach center in West Hollywood and the Venice Family Pain Clinic, the largest free clinic specializing in chronic pain. After becoming licensed in California and certified nationally by the NCCAOM, I moved to Nashville in 2013 and spent eight years at Encircle Acupuncture, one of the busiest community acupuncture clinics in the country, treating thousands of patients with a wide range of conditions. I've also specialized in fertility enhancement at a private clinic. Now based in Denver, I've worked at Whole Health Center and Mountain View Pain Center, focusing on emotional stress and nervous system regulation, autoimmune disorders, reproductive health, digestive issues, pain relief, and more. Honestly, I was a little afraid to try acupuncture as I thought it would hurt, but Jenelle is so good at what she does that you barely feel the needles going in... and they're so tiny! And in combination with cupping, the pain relief is incredible.
I suffer from PTSD and fibromyalgia and was in such immense pain that I could barely get up from a chair without intense pain. Within 6 weeks of seeing Jenelle, my pain was almost gone. She has helped my anxiety and my sleep as well - and we've become friends... she's just so awesome!
